Choose Your Breeds
There are over 65 breeds to choose from that simulate real breeds (along with some fantasy bunnies). These include all United States breeds, an assortment of breeds from around the world, crossbreeds, and crossbreeds. We aim to accurately depict real life breeds with proper reserch on standards, posed images, genetics, and uniques characteristics that each breed may be known for.
Different breeds have different gameplay mechanics based on their characteristics and needs:
Wool Breeds: Grow their coat out, groom them, and harvest the fiber when your bunny has a full coat. Wool breeds may be higher maintenance, but they can give you extra income on Leporidae.
Commercial Breeds: Large commercial breeds are the most productive with homesteads on Leporidae as a source of food. They have good sized litters, are generally healthy, and low maintenance.
Pet Breeds: People looking for pets favor small breeds like dwarfs. Any bunny can be a pet, though. You can rehome pets to both real players and NPC characters, who tend to gravitate towards some breeds more than others.
Fancy Breeds: All recognized breeds can compete in shows. Breeders can win awards for breeding high quality show rabbits with the best possible stats (based on breed standards).
If you can't choose just one breed, have no fear! Most breeders keep an assortment of different breeds. With so many shapes and sizes, and space for hundreds of rabbits, it's up to you which breeds to specialize in.
Realistic Genetics
Learn genetics as you play! Leporidae genotypes accurately mimic real life inheritance. Breeding colors will result in the same colors as you would get in real life.
Leporidae has all the bases covered (get it?) from BB x Bb to advanced combinations such as the torting of aa eje vs non-torted aa ejej. It includes rare and more obscure colors such as shaded agouti, broken magpie, rufus, and lutinos.
Pick of The Litter
With a buck and a doe, you can start breeding your own litters any time. Breeding the highest quality rabbits you can find will help you become a renowned breeder in whichever breed and colors you choose to specialize in.

Each real life day equals one month on Leporidae, so breeding rabbits will result in a litter the next day.
Watch your bunnies grow through each stage from baby to adult and try to guess which color they will be! Their skin color may give you clues even as newborns.
Competing in Shows
Enter your rabbits into shows to compete against other online players. You can earn in-game currency and noteriety by having top quality rabbits in the game.
Rabbits are judged based on their stats and how closely they come to meeting their breed's standard. Leporidae's official showing system closely mimics the official shows in real life. Rabbits are judged against their breed standard and may win leg awards.
Rabbits can have different traits such as long or short ears. So which rabbits are better than others depends on their breed standard.
Organize Your Rabbitry
Organize your rabbitry in a way that suits you! Each bunny you own gets their own cage, cage equipment, and notes. Choose who goes where, label, and decorate as you please.
Keep your bunnies in separate barns for large scale rabbitry organization! There are multiple different types of buildings. Give each one a name, description, and custom paint job.
